Law n’ Order Man! EnviroGirl! Come back! Come to Kuwait! We’ll make it worth your while!
Actually, in Kuwait, “coming soon” does not actually mean coming soon. There was a restaurant “coming soon” at The Palms, and we waited. And waited. The sign was up for months, and the restaurant never came!
We’ve heard there is also a Borders Books coming to The Avenues Mall – but we aren’t holding our breaths!
Chirp, our son and his wife introduced us, and we are all HOOKED!
Kinano – I think it should be an election issue. What? They think with the internet, with Aramax, with al the expats that they can keep books and DVDs out of Kuwait? That train has left the station. And I really hear it is true, but maybe it is that new 360° Mall opening up on 6th ring one day . .. soon?
Little Diamond – We already have all kinds of great fat-food, Baskin and Robbins, Haggen Daaz, Gelato, Dunking Donuts, Krispy Kreme (I think, I am not so sure about the last one) and all kinds of cafes will zillion-calorie sweets, oh yeh, and Cinnabon and Cinnamonster. . . no shortage of fat food here!
Rosa – he he he – but in Kuwait, sometimes coming soon never comes. The Villa Moda finally opened in one store, nearly TWO YEARS after the coming soon sign went up!
So is this famous? I know Cold Stone but its the first time I hear about this…should I be lining up somewhere holding 2kd in my hand and act jittery with glee? Becuase I will…
C – No more dancing for joy in the streets when you get back to Kuwait, but you can indulge in Marble Slab!
Disturbed – Whoa! Marble Slab coming to Kuwait is a GOOD thing!
Daloo3a – LLLOOLLL, you little cynic!
Oh Lady, so beautiful and so cynical? Don’t you think if someone can make a buck they will open eventually? And it’s not like this is someone you gotta watch like those Barnes & Noble people, or Borders, or those Virgins!
Q80Saracen – My son and his wife LOVE this ice cream. It is made with natural materials, relatively additive free – our young are “greener” than we are, and we learn from them.
It’s not open yet, Miyafushi, but it MIGHT open at the Al Kout Mall in Fehaheel, who knows when?
Sorry, Mirror Polisher, here is the truth – one beautiful day in Kuwait looks a lot like another. It’s only the cloudy and less beautiful days when I can get something that doesn’t look like every other day. Today was just your average gorgeous late Spring day . ..
I can’t wait … I want Marble Slab NOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Borders? in Kuwait? WHY ON EARTH WOULD THEY WANNA BE HERE?!!
Not like censorship is going to allow them to sell anything besides Harry Potter stuff!
coming soon … in washington dc takes forever too… i don’t think its a cultural issue ..
BeBe store in Hawalli Plaza became Beidoun Cosmetics! LOL

Looks good. Stupid Kuwait.

well the laws here are not too encouraging.. so a lot of times ‘Coming Soon’ means ‘Pretty Please Let us In!”
