25 Reasons to Drink Green Tea

I am a great believer that one way to stay well is to stay away from clinics and hospitals, where bad germs lurk, just waiting for the next victim. I am always looking for natural remedies, and science is finding that many times, old natural remedies work for a reason. Like chicken soup when you have a cold, like the benefits of drinking green tea.

I don’t know that green tea works in every way this article says it does, but there are enough benefits, and enough scientific research showing that it improves bodily functions, that I regularly imbibe.

  3. I’m with MacaholiQ8 – but anything that keeps away wrinkles is fine by me, so I’m “enjoying” a cup right now :)

  4. LOL, Little Diamond. I found one that had a roasted taste, it was pretty good, but I think it is hard to find, and expensive. It might be a winter tea . . .

  5. I like the flavored green teas at the supermarket, what works for me is to dip the tea bag for a short period in water that not boiling hot, this gives it a sweet taste instead of bitter ;)

  9. This is a great list. This is coming from someone who has a hard time consuming it as well (in drink form, so I either consume a pill/day or in patch form). I have to say, #1 reason eminates your #4:

“Green tea helps with your body weight loss. Green tea burns fat and boosts your metabolism rate naturally.
It can help you burn up to 70 calories in just one day.
That translates to 7 pounds in one year.”

To me, that’s a significant amount of weight to loose per year if one is either trying to shed those few unwanted lbs or stay fit and maintain one’s figure. Of course I’m also apt to believe #9 (obesity) as it relates to #4. Too many people get “instant” gratification from foods high on fat and low on what the body really needs. At least starting out with one beneficial food such as green tea is a start in the right direction.

Comment by Jordan Daniels | March 21, 2011 | Reply

  16. Number 19 says it relaxes muscles supporting the bronchial tubes. I’m not an expert, Jordan, so I can’t say for sure that it works or doesn’t work, but I drink green tea because I think it can’t hurt. I drink a lot of green tea when I have a cold, because I think it boosts my immunities, but I don’t really KNOW that scientifically. :-)

  17. I didn’t know much about green tea until one day when I was visiting my parents, I had this bad headache, I thought I would pass out, on hearing me complain my father stood up and make green tea for me.I was sure it won’t help as I have drunk it before, but for nothing. I got into the car and within an hour my head felt clear. I couldn’t believe it. I also constantly suffer from Asthma and a lot of allergies. Sinus also made my life hell. The next day I bought mine, I don’t know why I never knew before. I would have saved me a lot of pain and money.I would recommend it to everyone I know. Its only that until it saves your life you’ll never take it seriously, I was very lucky.

  18. I like it best, when its cold. Try drinking Iced green tea. I usually just go to starbuck and order iced green tea w/ one seet n low instead of the syrup. Its very good, and if you want to add a kick to it, just tell them to add lemonade! :-) Good luck!

  21. Healthlady, I don’t know. My favorite green tea is one that also has pomegranate; I like the color and I like the idea of all those anti-oxidants running wild in my body, killing off evil free radicals. ;-)

  25. Being aware of the impact you make gives you the advantage.
This is especially useful for those people that are under a lot of stress or may be struggling with depression
or anxiety. If you’re anything like me and you have a spot of bother nodding off a night, try a cup of Chamomile tea which has a natural sedative.
