Flotilla Photography

While you are getting all dressed up in your Eid clothing, and preparing to visit one another, I am still in my nightgown, blogging away, and snapping photos, trying to capture the vastness of the fishing blockade off the coastline. It is too much for my mind to comprehend, and there is too little I can do to get a good photo.

Here is a section of the flotilla – just a section; there are so many fishing boats!

Here is a close up, using the extended zoom (it’s so pixellated that I think extended zoom is not always such a good thing)

And so I asked my photo program – iPhoto – to see what it could do, just clicked “enhance” and this is what my photo program thought would be a better photo:

  1. how i wish i was there with them !! 🙂
this is the problem of digital zoom ,, totally useless !! its only advantage is the price.. still your shots delivered the message and the ambiance of the moment so well done.
PS i wish all Gods acceptance of your fasting and prayers and a very happy eid 🙂

  3. Oh, Abdulaziz, me too! I LOVE fishing.

My husband has a big fabulous Nikon digital and his photos are very fine. I love my camera – it takes photos that are also very good, sometimes even great, and it is much smaller and lighter weight, which means I can carry it all the time, a real advantage for me. It also means I sometimes sacrifice that quality that you and my husband share – a sense of getting the perfect photo!

Ansam – I didn’t know you were on a Mac! I love iPhoto, but I also suspect I could do a lot more with PhotoShop, if I took the time to learn it. On the other hand, it is like the internet – I could spend hours – if I let myself. I have other things in my life I need to accomplish, so I have to discipline myself. I have a feeling PhotoShop could be an addiction!

Oh! Your poor little feet! A good foot soaking, a hot bath, AND a massage! I hope you had a wonderful time greeting family and friends!
