  2. Daggero – Kuwait and Qatar are different. Qatar is a much more closed society. I do know a few Qatteri women. I don’t know any Qatteri men. Ramadan in Qatar is very much a home-based celebration, whereas in Kuwait, we often saw families celebrating in restaurants.

In Qatar, some companies will have a big celebration in one of the hotel’s Ramadan tents. Sometimes women are included. In Kuwait, the celebration seems much more open – we had many invitations at Ramadan, and we knew many Kuwaitis.

The laws in both countries are equally strict about eating, drinking and touching in public, and both countries ask expats to respect the month and to dress modestly.

Thank you for your Ramadan wishes. Ramadan Kareem, Daggero, and Ramadan Mabruk!
