Pocket Park with a View

As we were winding our way home from lunch, we came across a tiny parking area – two cars worth – and a pocket park with a view to die for.

The park is about where it says Chipley Avenue, and has a view of the Garcon Point bridge; a perfect place to watch the sun rise, if you are a sunrise person, which . . .I am!

The park was donated by a gift from a woman who is memorialized in a tiny plaque in the park:

Isn’t that a beautiful legacy to leave behind when you depart this world?

  1. How nice of her! But is there something wrong about the date? 1993-1997?

  3. Hmmm. Sharp eyes, Mathai! I can only guess that she was a neighbor during those years. . . this being Florida, where people come and go . . .

LOL, Daggero, you also have sharp eyes! Sunrise at this time of year is earlier than 6, but you can park there without a problem, or even run by there. I am betting the nearby houses don’t want people loitering in the park early in the morning or sleeping there. Again, this is Florida, where many of the homeless come because of the climate. Many sleep “rough”. Just my guess.

    • You have a tree in Kuwait that I love, Bu Yousef, the Aethel tree – do you know that tree? I think it is a native tree.
