Start of Ramadan 2011

The calendars are proclaiming that the first day of Ramadan will be August 1st this year, and the Eid al Fitr will be August 30th.

I cannot imagine Ramadan in August, especially in Kuwait and Qatar. It will be a brutal test of self-denial.

  3. I cannot imagine, Yousef. I think it was Ramadan in the summer when we lived in Tunisia (a long time ago) and I beiieve those who labored outdoors suffered the most serious effects.

Ah! Hayfa! Isn’t there an exemption for those who travel? But don’t you have to make those fasting days up later?
