Christmas Heartstrings

This just makes me ill. A new scam. Pulling on the heartstrings at Christmas time. And I don’t even know anyone by that name. I hope no one falls for this one.

This had to come in a hurry and it has left me and my family in a devastating state.. I’m contacting you as I need your urgent financial assistance, my family and I made a trip to London,United Kingdom just for a short vacation tour but, it all ended ugly. our belongings such as credit card, cell phone, jewelery and cash all stolen from us, as we got mugged by some unknown gun men. My credit card, can’t be charged by the hotel as I already reported it as a stolen card, and the card company had canceled it, so i can only get a new one when we make it back home safely.

We’ve reported the incident to the embassy and the Police but to my dismay they seem not bothered…their response was just too casual. Our flight leaves in few hours but We’ve got to settle our bills before We’re allowed to leave..I was wondering if you could loan me Money I’ll refund it to you as soon as we arrive home just need to clear our Hotel bills and get the next plane home, As soon as we get home I’ll refund it immediately.

Let me know what you can do so I can tell you how to get the money to me.

  2. My brother had his email address hijacked and they sent an email similar to this out to all the addresses on his list. As he is a frequent international traveler he had many friends ready to wire him money. Fortunately they called him/emailed him first as he was at home. He went thru all kinds of hassle cancelling his email address and setting up a new one with all his accounts. He said the address was hijacked when he accessed something on facebook.

  3. Hiya Dutchie! I am imagining that you are in the final stages of preparation for a fun filled Christmas 🙂

Holy cow, Momcat! I’ve really limited my participation on FaceBook for that very reason – that and all the information they can access . . . Wow. What a hassle for your brother. How did he first find out about it?

  4. He had some kind of hiccup when he went on facebook and immediately closed it. I was on-line when I got the email and called him right away(this was abount 6:00am and we were in same time zone then) and he was getting emails from his friends asking what kind of help he needed. He had the account shut down within 30 minutes. Fortunately he’s pretty computer savvy and knew what to do. But you are right, it is a real hassle.

  6. I’m delighted to see you again, my friend. Yes, I received an e-mail but it had the sense of not being from you and I didn’t follow the link. Don’t you hate it when that happens? It feels like such a violation. Glad to hear that – other than the hijacking – you are doing OK. I wish you a happy, prosperous and family filled New Year and all good things. 🙂
